Narrative Theatre Workshop with Juliet Guzzetta
U of M graduate student Juliet Guzzetta has returned to Ann Arbor from her two-year study in Italy to conduct a workshop based on her research about a growing genre of theatre called "narrative theatre"!
Ms. Guzzetta explains that narrative theatre “incorporates a long-standing tradition in Italy, that of storytelling, and is often layered with contemporary social and political issues usually concerning class and shaded with a light, but noticeable, rebellion against bourgeoisie cultural production.”
The workshop will consist of an informal introduction to the genre, followed by a short narrative theater exercise involving the attendees, and finally questions and comments. Snacks will be provided.
The workshop will take place Wednesday, December 7th from 4 to 6 pm. It will be in the Walgreen Drama Center, Room 2439 (the large classroom). Please RSVP to me if you are interested in attending.
