Tennessee Williams Turns 100!
The Drama Interest Group was proud to help sponsor the Williams @ 100 Conference in the Department of Theatre & Drama. The department brought in scholars and artists from the local community to discuss the staging of Williams' work and to present their current research on gender and sexuality in Williams' plays, including graduate students Chung-Hao Ku from the Department of English, Cory Nelson from Brandeis University, and Sarah Withers from Indiana University. The Department of Theatre & Drama presented the play Suddenly Last Summer by Williams and students in Basement Arts staged Christopher Durang's parody of Williams, For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls. Durang was a featured speaker and shared his current Williams parody, Desire, Desire, Desire.
